Paul Finishes in Iowa Top Five, But No Room for Him on the “Debate Bus”

An article posted on the Associated Content website gets it right:
Television influences people from everything from commercials for cereal to opinionated news. Well, two stations, ABC and Fox News Channel are taking this to a whole new level. Both stated the will limit the amount of presidential candidates during their next debates. This has stirred up controversy for candidates, who are struggling in the polls including Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.
It should stir up controversy, if not outrage, because in essence Fox and ABC are deciding who the front-runners will be. The Iowa caucus voting system, admittedly less than perfect, as of this morning has the following results for the Republicans:
Mike Huckabee - 34 per cent
Mitt Romney - 25 per cent
Fred Thompson - 13 per cent
John McCain - 13 per cent
Ron Paul - 10 per cent
Rudy Giuliani - 3 per cent
Obviously, Ron Paul, at ten percent and beating Giuliani hands-down, deserves a seat at the debates. But he will be excluded. “Fox has only asked five Republican presidential candidates to a debate that is set for Sunday in New Hampshire. These candidates include Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney, and Fred Thompson. The candidates left out are Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter. The Fox News Channel says it only has a small amount of room in the studio, which will take place in a bus,” continues Associated Content.
In other words, it does not matter that Paul beat Giuliani: he will not be asked to attend. Of course, there is a reason for this — Giuliani is an establishment candidate and Ron Paul is an outsider who talks dangerously about liberty, taxes, the Iraq “war,” and the Constitution. Since he is not reading from the establishment script, there will be no room for him on the bus.
Despite Fox’s statement about the “space issue”, some just do not believe it. Pam Ungerman an Independent voter, states, “I do not buy it. Fox News Channel does not like Ron Paul’s libertarian views. He is everything that most Republican candidates are not. Paul hates the war and does not stand for core values of Republicans. Fox should have the debate in a larger area than just a bus. What a poor excuse.” Paul is very popular among college students on various campuses. Some students are calling for viewers to not watch the Fox News Channel anymore.
Good idea, that. Now if they can only convince their voting parents to do likewise.
ABC has not determined yet about who will be allowed to participate in its next debate, but states it will decide after the Iowa caucus that takes place on January 3rd. ABC News released a statement on its website saying it has criteria for its next debate that will take place this Saturday. ABC says the candidates must have one or more of these three requirements.
And what will that “criteria” be? It’s a no-brainer, obviously. No talk about ending the Iraq occupation — or no serious talk, anyway — and certainly no talk about eliminating the IRS and returning America to an economic policy not based on funny money. Sure, the Huck talks about eliminating income taxes, but you know he really does not mean it. Like Bush’s talk about “compassionate conservatism” in the lead-up to the 2000 election, Huck’s idea — stolen from Ron Paul — will get lost along the way to November.
Associated Content concludes:
It will be a very interesting and unique debate this weekend with the remaining candidates according to ABC and the Fox News Channel. They have limited any chance of a dark horse candidate in the election. It is becoming a terrible situation when network executives are deciding who they want the American people to see on television.
Hardly surprising, as corporate executives at the behest of the ruling elite are the folks who decide who will be the next president, not the American people.
Once upon a time, a government ruled by corporations, by corporatism, was defined as the very essence of fascism. Now most of us are none the wiser.
Thus it is not shocking that a gaggle of fascists — in business suits instead of military uniforms — will be deciding who gets on the bus.

It looks like they aren’t inviting three candidates now (Duncan Hunter, Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel) but Ron Paul will be in the debate.

I’ve just returned from filling out my register to vote card. I’m 33 and this will be my first time to vote. I was never inspired to vote before in previous elections. After hearing yet another great interview with Ron Paul today on the Alex Jones Broadcast I decided to get up off my rump and get out there and get on the ball. I reckon its a bit overdue but I’ve never felt like voting for anyone before because they all sucked so bad. Then came Ron Paul… Hope For America.

Fox News has a 1st Amendment guarantee to excluded Congressman Paul if they so chose to.
I think Fox will capitulate at the 11th hour.
In my opinion Fox enjoys stirring the pot and uses controversy to boost ratings.
I have noticed that whenever their rating start to slip they will do something outrageous.
I think it doesn’t matter to Fox that the public may have a negative opinion of them.
All that matters is that they are being talking about, watched and considered a “player”.

I hope people within the Ron Paul campaign can organize a massive rally in New Hampshire to protest this “Debate Bus.”
If the “studio,” is indeed a bus, I think we should crash the party and stage a huge protest directly outside of the “bus.”
On January 6th, we must make our voices heard.
No more Mr. Nice Guy…..
The gloves are off…..

Well Ron Paul isn’t retarded, so he doesn’t need to ride that short bus.
He’ll be on the grassroots bus with all of us! Woot!

“Television influences people from everything from commercials for cereal to opinionated news. Well, two stations, ABC and Fox News Channel are taking this to a whole new level. Both stated the will limit the amount of presidential candidates during their next debates.”
^ that’s because of who funds them, in my opinion… not the actual stations.
I think alot of it has to do with the fact that Dr. Paul has provided hope for Americans.
He’s reminded many of rights they had forgotten they even had!
They don’t want “Joe six-pack” (<– as Dear Alex would say) to realize they actually have an option for a better future.

THANK YOU!!! That’s awesome!
January 4th, 2008 at 6:05 pm
Paul is a liar!!!! He does not defend the constitution which you supporters hail him for. He does not swear to uphold the 14th ammendment. He thinks that states have the right to legalize the murder of children. This makes him evil. If he understood the constitution which he so proudly “defends and upholds” he would also understand that the God given rights that are affirmed in the constitution are also given to our “POSTERITY” as stated in the preamble.
January 4th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
This has got to be a joke….
Dr. Paul PERSONALY believe’s in pro-life, but also thinks that it is the indivuduals decision, NOT the states decision.
January 4th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
No txgirl Paul has stated over and over that states have the right to legalize the murder of children. Then he will say that he personaly is pro-life seems like a cop-out to me. Thats like saying I personaly am against the murder of Jews and the owning of blacks but I think the states have the right to legalize those actions. Come on do you expect me to fall for that. I wish I could vote for Dr. Paul but if he is not wise enough to understand that the right to life comes from God and not the states then he is not worthy of being President!
January 4th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Dr. Paul has NOT said the states have the right to murder children… You’re being irrational… he simply thinks the Federal Government should not have a say so in the matter.
And, I stand corrected, Dr. Paul does believe the decision should come from the state level… but keep in mind that WE the public have more pull with the state than we do with the government.
January 4th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
Your wrong again Paul says the states have the right to legalize abortion , which is the intentional taking of a human life. If he were true to the constitution as he claims he would cite the 14th ammendment. Though even if the 14th ammendment did not exist it would not matter no government has the right to legalize the killing of the innocent because life comes from God and killing of the innocent is murder which yours and my creator prohibits. So Paul does not defend the constitution or our God given right to life.
January 4th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
OK EXPOSE YOUR GENITALS …
YOUR POINT IS MADE..BUT,,,IS THE KILLING OF OVER 3000 CITIZENS AS A PREAMBLE TO WAR OK WITH YOU? BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THE GOVERNMENT DID ON 9/11…SEE LOOSE CHANGE AND THE MANY OTHER TRUTH DOCUMENTARIES AVAILABLE,THEN YOU MIGHT SEE THAT AT LEAST HE IS OPEN AND HONEST ABOUT A DECISION,,UNLIKE THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION WHO DELIBERATELY ATTACKED US AND THE IN TURN,WENT INTO 2 COUNTRIES AND BEGAN A MASS SLAUGHTER OF INNOCENT PEOPLE TO THE TUNE OF 300,000+ THOUSAND,,MY SOURCE,,MY SON,WHO HAPPENS TO BE SERVING IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND CONTINUALLY SAYS THAT THEY ARE ORDERED TO KILL ANYONE THAT MOVES,,INCLUDING KIDS AND BABIES,,FORTUNATELY,MY SON HAS HIGHER MORALS THAN THAT AND REFUSES TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON THOSE ORDERS THAT COME DIRECTLY FROM THE WHITE HOUSE!!!! MY SON HAPPENS TO BE AN ARMY SARGEANT .
January 4th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
This is outrageous. Paul should not be excluded from the debate, especially considering that he beat out Guliani by 4% in Iowa. But on the other hand, we should have seen this coming. Of course they’ll exclude the only candidate who has anything truthful to say because the TRUTH HURTS and these people just enjoy PRETENDING that they give a crap. Fake neo-con establishment liars!! And you idiots who are getting off on the tagent of abortion need to wake up!!
January 4th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
I emailed FOX a gazillion times to every email address they own. FIGHT AND FIGHT THEM HARD!!
January 4th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Jerry it seems where life of the innocent is concerned your son has higher morals than your guy Paul. Your son as you stated refuses to murder innocent babies in spite of the orders you claimed come from the white house. He understands unlike Paul that no man has the right to legalize the murder of innocent so he refuses those orders. What if the states decided to kill those children in Iraq I guess Paul would have no problem with that as long as the feds stayed out of it, your guy Paul is confused as well as most of the other politicians. Oh yes I’m glad you admit my point is made maybe it won’t take another 50million dead or another civil war before the American politicians and the people who elect them get it right. You claim that the present administration murdered 3000 citizens on 9/11, I’ve seen those videos by the way, and Paul is the answer but i pose this question to you if Paul nor Bush will protect the lives of the most innocent and defenceless Americans then what makes you think he will protect you. According to Pauls own circular reasoning of not defending the 14th ammendment , then if the states decided to put to death all paul supporters and the feds stopped it Paul according to his reasoning WOULD DECLARE IT UNCONSTITUTIONAL.!!!! Do you see the path that your guy can lead you down don’t drink man’s coolaid but understand and quench your thirst with LIVING WATER found through the word and laws of God.
January 4th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
Expose, I guess you prefer to have the federal government stand by the Roe vs Wade decision… as it has and always will yet will pull it out during election time to strum on your heart strings. Don’t you get it? At least if the decision is made at a local level, YOU have more of a shot at getting what you want. Or you can move to a state that’s more suitable to your morals.
January 4th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Jstme, what i prefer is that the lives of innocent are protected. Don’t worry I am not fooled by republican and democrat politicians who use the lives of the innocent too pander for votes during election time. The lives of innocent Americans are being ended every day while Paul and the rest of the government stands by. It is the responsibility of the government to stop this and if need be call out the troops to protect the innocent just as was done by Lincoln. No one seems too address PaulS hypocrisy of not advocating and defending the 14th ammendment. As far as moving to another state that is closer to my morals such as DO NOT MURDER, I ask should Germans who don’t support the murder of Jews by the nazi party, should they be the ones told to find somewhere else to live, or should justice be brought upon the murderers?
January 4th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
well folks I’m going to bed now am still waiting for someone to address Pauls evil hypocricy. Let me Know and I’ll get back with you tomorrow. I find it interesting that the one ammendment Paul won’t defend is the one that defends your own life!
January 5th, 2008 at 3:39 am
O.K. I vote we just ignore “expose paul”
like ANY child who was ignored by mommy and daddy, this kid is just trying to get attention…
January 5th, 2008 at 5:39 am
observed you like the rest of the public you despise, choose to ignore the truth. I have showed the evil of your candidate but your response is to ignore it and then it won’t be true. Wow that is great yuppie strategy you have. You still, nor has anyone else showed me where I am wrong. Maybe it is because you know I am right so you want to ignore me like Fox chooses to ignore your guy Paul , you hypocrit.
