McCain Irked By Ron Paul

Des Moines, Iowa - GOP presidential candidate John McCain is deeply worried that his resurgent national campaign may be stalled by a relatively strong showing in tonight’s Iowa caucuses by the iconoclastic Ron Paul.
The Arizona senator’s campaign told the HuffPost that their candidate is concerned that Paul will finish third behind front-runners Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney.
McCain, whose campaign floundered earlier in the year, has been showing renewed strength in the battle to win the key New Hampshire primary next week. His national numbers have also been rising and one respected poll now has him in first place.
The McCain campaign also gives former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, currently leading the Iowa Republican polls, little chance of surviving New Hampshire even if he scores a clear victory in tonight’s caucuses. The fight for the GOP nomination, McCain strategists believe, should be a head-to-head showdown between McCain and Mitt Romney.
A strong showing by Paul tonight could severely damage McCain’s overall strategy. McCain is said to be especially irked because the outsider campaign of the Texas Congressman is given little viability on a national scale. But Paul raised $20 million from his fervent supporters in the last quarter of 2007, enough money to act as a spoiler for more mainstream candidates like McCain.
“Ron Paul’s like the Joker in a poker game,” said one McCain staffer. Paul reportedly dropped three mailers overnight and kicked his phone banks into turbo-mode in an all-out push to make into the final tier of tonight’s winners.
Both McCain and Paul are currently tied at about 10% in most polls of likely Iowa caucus-goers. McCain has not actively campaigned in Iowa and skipped last summer’s Republican Straw Poll. His visit to the state today just hours before the caucuses was one of his rare campaign trips here.
As Paul greeted his volunteers this morning at his downtown headquarters, the HuffPost asked for the candidate’s reaction to McCain’s anger: “I’m so excited. I’m excited he’s so upset about me.”

One hundred billion dollars every four months for the next four years. This is our last chance to get it right. Ron Paul is the only candidate who wants to discuss the cost of this illegal occupation using corrupt private contractors, who are unaccountable to us, our commanders, and for their actions. How people are thinking this is about terrorism and not oil and the rape of our Country is amazing.

Let us not forget that when the rescue finally came for McCain and those GIs imprisoned with him, that he clearly weighed in over 20 pounds heavier than the rest of his contingent. POWs that rat get preferential treatment. The rest starve.

i wish for every human on this planet to realize that we can be intelligent and informed. please, with the utmost importance, we have a small amount of time to correct what the elitist, fascist groups have brought upon us. the sad thing is, even if ron paul becomes our next president he’ll more than likely be assassinated. its not up to our candidates anymore…its up to us to save ourselves. check out zeitgeist, Alex jones, and Michael Tsarian. these are but a few people along with ron paul who actually care about the people of this world.

We admire McCain for his service to our country, but the man is just another Neo-Con player. We don’t hear anything out of McCain’s mouth that indicates he’s any kind of leader at all; only another follower of New World Order elites. Look at the courage RON PAUL displays when he boldly declares the TRUTH, and angers most everybody in Washington DC and especially his own party. It takes a true leader to do that!

McCain has no chance as president, but is likely to be picked up as a running mate by one of the hand-selected candidates, such as Huckabee or Romney. We can only pray that Ron Paul’s message of true freedom will ring clear in states where the IQ is a little higher over all. Sadly, the blue state socialists and red state fascists are too addicted to the ministry of truth to see anything as it really is. Perhaps their laziness at going out to vote will benefit the rest of us who have a valid reason to vote this year.

How quickly the sheeple forget that it was MCCAIN that helped draft the “immigration reform bill” that was not passed by this Congress - because of the people.
McCain was at a rally singing “Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran” Remember when he went to Iraq and “walked” through at shopping center (heavily guarded by troops and helicopters) and then said that everything was GREAT in IRAQ.
