Debate Audio Glitches (and other shenanigans)

By jeremy | January 25, 2008

In tonight’s MSNBC debate, Ron Paul was asked a question about social security that was designed to scare senior citizens.  When he replied, his audio sounded distorted, as if there were a reverb-type effect going on when he spoke into the mic.  This didn’t happen when any of the other candidates spoke.  Was this done intentionally to muffle Ron’s voice?

For some time, many people have suspected that certain candidates in these debates have been given advance knowledge of the questions, and that the debates are largely staged affairs.  This suspicion has only grown now that it appears Romney was wired and coached during the most recent debate.  This should be a national scandal!

There is a clear history of unfair treatment of Ron by the mainstream media (e.g. excluding him from presidential forums; giving him less speaking time than the other candidates; positioning him on the edge of the screen; debate moderators like Stephanopolous saying publicly that he can’t win; asking him questions designed to hurt his candidacy while giving many softballs to the other candidates, etc.).

In previous debates, Ron appeared to have difficulty hearing the moderators at times.  He has occasionally been compelled to cup his hand over his ear and ask them to repeat their question, usually at a key moment of the debate.  This imagery could potentially be used against him later on in conjunction with questions about his age.  Given the foregoing, I think it’s safe to ask the question whether these audio glitches — which seem only to occur when Ron is speaking — are part of an effort to sabotage the Ron Paul Revolution.

One way to get around this is to have RP have his on mic like a wireless mic in his pocket ready to go. He should not use the one supplied. He should have a back up. I can imagine him saying, “There appears something to be wrong with my feed. Not to worry, I believe all us should be prepared for any event. Here is my wireless mic. Is that better audience?”

The last NON CFR member RON PAUL! They will do anything and everything to try and sabotage the campaign of the TRUE PATRIOT RON PAUL. Any one with any intelligence can see real change in the White House can only happen with Ron Paul. We know the media is owned by the globalists and they are afraid of Dr Ron Paul because they can’t buy him off. Integrity man.

Having worked for television for over 15 yrs, specializing in audio, I can tell you that what is happening is that the audio tech is mixing in the ambience mic from the audience and what you’re hearing is the P.A. system in the venue. There will be a slight delay in the voice, and coupled with the house P.A. and the reverb from the room will cause his voice to sound hollow, reverberent and hard to understand. As for the whispering you heard during Romney’s answer there are a few possibilities for such things to happen.
    1) He was wearing a telex in his ear and the audio leaked into his mic. This happens but I don’t think this was the case.
    2) He was wearing a telex and his coach’s mic must go through the audio mixer to get to the telex and by mistake the fader was up just a little bit and the soundman quickly brought it down after he heard it. It’s happened to me.
    3) I’m not sure if the candidates have a monitor to hear the questions. It doesn’t look like they’re wearing a telex. Very doubtful it would be from a monitor.
In my opinion, the whisper came from someone who was close to an open mic. It was not a leak from another source, it came directly from the mic through the audio mixer. It looks to me like it was from a coach because you can tell that Romney waited for the voice to finish before answering. Does anyone know what the candidates are given to hear the questions and hear each other?

Yes Ron Paul cannot be bought. According to a former drug kingpin I interviewed years ago, this makes Paul an extremely dangerous man…to certain people in
high places. I asked the kingpin what they do with someone they can’t buy off.
He said “It left us with no other choice but to try and deal with him, and if he caused us trouble, to ‘Off him’.”
We MUST protect Ron and Carol Paul AT ALL COSTS. These neo-con thugs are not just going to roll over and go away.

I’d like to inject some caution into this conversation. We want to make sure we all come across as professional here. I agree that the things you mention are somewhat suspicious, but without firm proof the only thing that can come out of these discussions is more cannon for the MSMs fodder that we’re all conspiratorialists. As Dr. Paul said about the 9/11 Truthers “They certainly aren’t helping me so I wish they would stop.” Let’s keep it level, folks. We need ot deal with facts - all else will get us nowhere.

It is obvious to anyone that the media is doing everything it can to stop Ron Paul from becoming President of the U.S. The true Patriots of this country need to rally until the last vote is tallied. This unfair treatment is not going to stop. The opposition has too much at stake and does not want the American people to know what is happening. It’s up to each and every individual who believes in our Consitution to yell from the roof tops and expose the bias against the truth. We’ve come too far. The battle for the truth must go forward with full force. GO RON PAUL!!!

This is it ladies! Time for the leaders to surge forward into the trenches. The Ron Paul 2008 campaign needs “Precinct Leaders” to pledge to bring their precinct in for Dr. Paul. Even if you can’t vote, you can canvass and organize. Help us and join in for the big win.

At first I thought it was the ‘whisper’ of Mitt himself, in an audible crib note to himself to remind him of his rehearsed answer to a known question. Especially when the, “I’m not gon’…”, whisper was revealed. Mainly because of the speed at which the ‘whisper’ came, right in the middle of the question being asked. The personalized like message of, “I’m not gon’…”, is what sorta solidified that thought.

I’m not so certain of that anymore, after hearing these other ‘whispers’…One thing is for certain, they can ignor Ron in the MSM and these guys can all rehearse answers for all their debate questions…Just allow Ron Paul 1/3 of the time, and he still has an unfair advantage! But start these last minute twisting of rules, skimming of votes, stuffing of ballot boxes…I begin to get a might pissed off!!!

There really should be great concern for the safety of Ron and his family, we all know what these filthy scum bags are capable of…It may galvanize this rEVOLution, even cause it to get violent / bloody, and lead us to a swift decisive victory…It would still be a horrendous loss for this nation. I see Ron as the father of our great, prosperous, everlasting, born again republic. Nothing can stop us now!!!

Ron has definately earned an honorable place in the history of our future… Something like that.
